Collection: Scale gouging

Scale gouges consist of solid round steel with a ground v-shape, or parabolic flute. Because they are a lot heavier than the shaping gouges, they are better able to make longer, deeper cuts compared to the leaning trowel. As the name suggests, these are used for shaping and hollowing out shells.
